Two of EDM’s best have joined forces and formed the group Jack U. Diplo’s Mad Decent Block Party 2013, which was in San Diego this past Sunday, was where the group made their first public collaboration together. Jack U was among the many much anticipated groups on the line-up such as Big Gigantic, Flosstradamus, Dillon Francis, and Zeds Dead. June 11 was the inauguration of Grammy nominated group, The Lonely Island’s brand new album “The Wack Album”. Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer released their 3rd studio album that features some big name artists such as Sean Combs, T-Pain, Kendrick Lamar, Hugh Jackman, and many more. The satirical group drops some poppin’ beats, and of course comedic lyrics – the perfect solution for your hump day!

‘“I think it’s a Bay Area thing,” Andy Samberg. “I mean, we love rock,” Taccone says, “but we have an encyclopedic knowledge of hip-hop.” And as Schaffer points out, “we can’t sing.” Asked to name their all-time favorite albums, they immediately answer: De La Soul is Dead(Taccone), Bizzarre Ride II the Pharcyde (Samberg) and Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers (Schaffer). Right now, they’re all listening to Kendrick Lamar, but admit to not keeping up with every last club trend. “I still don’t get what ‘trap’ is,” Samberg sighs.’

Somebody needs to get Andy up to speed with some good TRAP! Till then enjoy below and check out the rest of the album on iTunes and YouTube

Also, resemblance in their album cover to famed electronic sensations The Glitch Mob?

DMNDZ as described by their Facebook page: “producers tandem BeatMagik and DJ Al One. In the course of long companionship on musical projects, days and nights in studio behind creation of music, they made the decision on creation of the project devoted by EDM Trap music” –  has stayed devout to just that. With this remix of “Heartbeat” originally produced by progressive house duo Vicetone, DMNDZ showcases the power of trap. Afrojack’s “Bangtrap”

Afrojack just dropped a new tune and it’s pretty sweet.  Most known for his bass blaring, dance-driven tunes, we like how he’s mixed it up a little here. Showing his talent as an artist, Afrojack has taken his signature style and has managed to  blend this beat into more of an 808-heavy swing. We love trap!

heRobust “Busted House”

HeRobust is back with another sweet EP and we are all about it. HeRobust’s signature style is trap, but in his new release he does a great job of blending in a healthy amount of electro house and dubstep. The outcome is fantastic and every track has a little of what we love: Trap, bass, sick beats and more bass. Enjoy!

July 4th? Nah…it’s “Bootleg Fireworks”!

We did not think that Dillon Francis could do much more to prove his talent as an electronic artist, but he has proven us wrong. Known as the “Galactic Emperor of Moombah”, Dillon has shown his ingenuity  by creating tracks that have a beautiful fusion of house music and Reggaeton. But that is not why we are calling his name today. With his new single “Bootleg Fireworks (The Rebirth)”, Dillon Francis has entered the world of trap music and has come in with quite the bang! Using one of his favorite Moombahton tracks, he has raised the tempo of the song and given it a new twist that no one saw coming. There is also a rumor that his music video for the original track may drop within the next week. Keep your eyes and ears open!

KAOS Comes Alive

Need a little trap music? KAOS is here to help you out. Only 21 years old, he is originally from India but now living in London. He has not put out a lot of music, but the little bit that he has produced is pretty cool. His song “Come Alive” is an excellent example of what we are talking about. The smooth vocals grab your attention and keep it throughout the entire song. The beat is a nice mix of Dubstep and Drum n’ Bass with some house influences in there as well. Do not be surprised if you hear this kid’s name again, he’s killing it!
