Infected Mushroom is one of those groups that we never take for granted every year. For the last three years, they have amazed us with one of THE BEST live performances in music. From their stunning 3D mapping visuals of “The Dueling Death Stars” to their custom controllers, Duvdev and Erez always bring on their A-game. We’re beyond stoked to have them here again this Friday with a full band.

Their latest EP, Converting Vegetarians II out on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records, sticks to the bizarre medley of sounds that only Infected Mushroom can create, and completely own. Listen to it here, and let it take you through the rabbit hole, into another world.

Let’s get weird. Check out our interview with Duvdev and Erez:

The trio, comprised of DJ duo Daniel Stephens and Joe Ray, plus vocalist Alana Watson, helped popularize their glitchy synths, and heavy bass lines into pop vocals. They’ve become so successful in doing so, that they even contributed to The Great Gatsby soundtrack. Their first chart-topping single released in 2011, “Promises” has over 25 million YouTube views (their own remix with Skrillex has almost 40 million views!)

Seeing all three perform live Friday 10/23, at Skyway is definitely going to be a treat. We got to see their DJ set on the mainstage at Spring Awakening Music Festival a couple years ago, you can be sure that the show is going to be even more amazing with live vocals.
After hearing their newest album, Between II Worlds, we know that they’re still going strong. Here’s a preview of a few of their tracks from the new album. Full album download link here.

We were lucky enough to catch their opening set for the GRiZMatik show in Minneapolis back in November, and are stoked to see them headline their own show! Their new album, “Do Your Thing,” made a huge impact by making it’s way into the list of the top 15 electronic albums on the iTunes charts. Urbana is in store for an exciting, live performance from the Floozies, who never disappoint and always make the crowd get down! And catching them in the legendary First Avenue in Minneapolis this Saturday is going to be a night to remember as well! Big Gigantic: The Night is Young Tour Recap!

Dom

It was a beautiful Valentine’s Day indeed, one that we will not quickly forget. The duo known as Big Gigantic was in Minneapolis on Friday night and their set blew us away. You can always tell within the first minute of a show, if the artists are zoned in or not, and those cats were ready to go. From the first song to the last, Dom and Jeremy were feeling it. To add to the excitement, Big G had just dropped a brand new album titled ‘The Night Is Young’ earlier in the week which meant… a whole lot of brand new music for us, including some of our favorites such as “Clvdbvrst” and “Blue Dream”!! We have seen these two perform over 5 times and it’s exciting to see their continued progress as musicians. Each show brings a new element that was not present in the last, they are always improving and always innovating. The crowd was also on another level and we were so happy to see all the beautiful people that came out to party with us. Minneapolis has some of the best fans in the world and we could truly feel the love in the air. A Big Gigantic Family. Until festival season!!

Steve Aoki Hospitalized!!

““#aokijump #174 The Hospital Gurney Jump. Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital. San Juan, Puerto Rico. October 28 2012″ -Steve Aoki

No this isn’t some clever pun that we made for a new song, but Steve Aoki has indeed been hospitalized for a neck injury he sustained a couple days ago during a concert. What exactly happened? Here’s the full scoop:

“Steve Aoki was hospitalized in San Juan, Puerto Rico over the weekend following a bad fall during his concert Saturday night. Things turned for the worse after the world famous DJ decided to attempt a stage dive off of a trampoline.  He landed wrong which resulted in spraining his neck. Aoki, who was ironically wearing a T-shirt that says “Watch your neck” at the time of the incident, was immediately rushed to Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital in San Juan, but was released the following day free of any major injury.” [Rumorfix]

He put all the pictures up on twitter with some commentary, check it out:

“Blow by blow the stage dive trampoline ultimate fail. Ironic my tee says ‘watch your neck’”

“I made it out alive and in one piece. Thank you to the Puerto Rican doctors and EMT! 3 days to recover before Europe tour”

Steve Aoki got really Rowdy, but paid the price.  Get better soon!!
